This is why Photoshop is bad.
So GQ’s newest edition has Kate Upton on the cover. The Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition did too. However, GQ’s is about a million times better — mainly because she looks like a person is supposed to look.
Kate Upton is a ridiculously good looking lady (in my opinion.) So I was pretty displeased when I got this year’s SI swimsuit edition, because she looks bizarre. Her face looks totally unnatural and smushed. Compare to the GQ cover, and it’s like a different person.
Even if you avoid the boobs — cover them up with your hand, and look. Which looks better? Of course, the popsicle is trying to suggest something, but you can cover that up too, and it’s just a much better picture.
This is why you should use Photoshop sparingly, or at least subtly.
